Your system does not meet the published pre-requisites for running and using the 'full' (screen-sharing) version of rpi-connect.
I've just bought my first Raspberry Pi Zero 2W and, as the Raspberry Pi imager recommended, I've installed the latest version RaspberryPiOS (64-Bit) (bookworm).

You can probably use rpi-connect-lite and use the shell (command line) 'terminal' interface.

Raspberry Pi Connect needs your Raspberry Pi to be running a 64-bit distribution of Raspberry Pi OS Bookworm that uses the Wayland window server. This in turn means that, for now, you’ll need a Raspberry Pi 5, Raspberry Pi 4, or Raspberry Pi 400.

We distribute an alternate Lite variant of Connect that only supports remote shell access, with no ability to screen share.
