Media centres • Creating Media Center

Greetings!
I'm a newbee that is interested in Raspberry Pi but need to know what it's limitations are.

My plans for use is Streaming Live TV and Movies.

What apps (Streaming/Movie) can be side loaded?
I see on YouTube that Kodi is mentioned but no one is showing it with any Builds installed in it.

Can the Raspberry Pi be connected to an AVR for Dolby Atmos Surround?

I currently use a Homatics R4K Plus Box and looking for a better alternative that can handle 4K, DV and Atmos.

Lastly, based on my intentions what else is required other than the Pi?
