I want to achieve the perfect balance between sacrificing die lifetime for higher performance, but not overvolting it too high to make the die fail before other components in the system. I want to squeeze every bit of compute that I can out of this little machine over the years. How do I calculate/achieve this balance?
You can't calculate that for an individual device. So all you can do is experiment and keep your fingers crossed it works out in your specific application.

The normal no-overclocking values were calculated by the Raspberry Pi design engineers to achieve the best performance over their desired device lifetime.
Oh, alright. Thanks.
