General discussion • Secure boot with nvme failing works on SD card

Hi,

I'm trying to get secure boot to boot straight off the nvme drive. Currently, it's booting correcting from the SD drive and in the initramfs it continues loading from the nvme drive. This works.

However, when I copy the boot.img and the boot.sig (The only files on the working SD card partition #1) to partition #1 on the nvme drive. It appears to start to boot secure boot as it displays:

Loading boot.img ...

waits 2 seconds and then restarts with the SD card and so on.

If I additionally add the original boot.conf and boot.conf.sig files that I burnt the eeprom with (From the SD card, resulting in the all green screen), then I get in addition the output:

Loading boot.img ...
nvme: error 131076
FAT read failed @ 75792
Error 8 loading boot.img
Boot mode: RESTART (0f) order 0

and so on

What is stopping the same boot.img and boot.sig files that boot correct when start off the SD card from starting correctly on the nvme drive?

It's a samsung nvme m.2 980
