Yes the Reolink Software Front End does run from windows, but only for monitoring the cams, the PC is off most of the time and I still used to get 'movement detection' videos recorded to the HDD by my pi overnight. The pi does all the work, the Reolink software is just used to view the cameras when I want.
The mechanism used to get the videos to the pi's is built into the cameras, each cam has to be set up separately to point at the directory (and ip address) it needs to store it's vids in.
I see from their website we can "Access Reolink Device via Web Browser Locally" - does that work? -Not Tried This as I can view the cameras via their software, would I just put the ip address in then name:password?
I use (not a Reolink cam) RTSP to get the video feed (with username/password) from my cam to my Pi3 (or to VLC on PC/iPad) - Not sure how this one works?
