and you say that you had no thermal issues?

That's of concern to me as I live in a fairly hot climate.
Only because I used a decent cooler:

I am sure it would throttle with a less capable cooler, with very heavy loads or stress tests.
I hate fans, and fortunately this cooler works well even with the fan removed.
Without the fan, "stress-ng --cpu 0 --cpu-method fft" eventually gets the temp up into the low 70's, but real world loads don't of course.
Wow! That's one serious cooler! :o

Probably not suitable for our use though. Though, I'm tempted to get one just for fun. I have the idea of experimenting with various cooling option to se what I can do.

I use the RPI active cooler for day to day use. It works fine for me at the moment. It's not unusual in the summer for it to reach into the 40s in here; but the PI has never overheated in normal use.

I agree with you about fans on PCs, they can be pretty noisy. I remember working in large server farms and the noise almost required ear defenders! One thing I really like about the 400s, is the fact that they don't need any active cooling. The fan on the PI5 is so quiet though, I don't really notice it. ...or maybe I'm just a bit deaf from all those years working in computer rooms!
