So PCF8574 is anyway working independently, I understand.
My current approach is to have encoders 1-4 using the 4 SMs from pio0, use mathertel's RotaryEncoder library for encoder 5 (does not use PIO) and have the NeoPixel use the whole pio1. Seems to work![:-)]( "Smile")
Now I can proceed to work on the buttons and the LED color control logic.
