HATs and other add-ons • Re: Hat+ spec

The hat+ spec shows 56.5mm width but all the Pi boards are 56mm. This looks to be by design as then NVMe hat is 56.5mm. does anybody know why the extra .5mm?

Looking at my NVMe M.2HAT+ I would guess to provide a "little more strength" to the corner where there's a large gap in the edge to give access for display/camera cables to the (P5's) respective connectors on the Pi - FWIW some photo's of said HAT+ mounted onto a P5 with an active cooler and mounted in a Pimoroni layer case can be seen here: https://www.cpmspectrepi.uk/raspberry_p ... tplus.html
