Troubleshooting • Re: Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W (RPi OS Bookworm) crashes or lags immensely, suspecting WiFi

Thank you very much for your time and expertise, I appreciate it!

I'll attach the USB-TTL adapter, to see if there's any difference in the information I'm given.
I've been monitoring the three 02W yesterday and noticed that all three had the same issue/crash around the same time. I'll check the journalctl today and see if I can identify anything relevant now.

Other than that I have new approaches I want to follow.
  • Flash the legacy (bullseye) Rasperry Pi OS, to see if it behaves the same
  • Flash a RPi 3/4, to see if it behaves the same
  • Run tcpdump (tcp and udp), to see if I can correlate the crashes to a specific network activity
  • Set up one 02W without networking, but attached peripherals to see if the same occurs
  • Set up one 02W without wireless LAN but wired LAN, then connect via SSH to see if the same occurs
  • Set up one 02W that reboots every ten minutes, logging a message after boot and before the purposely triggered reboot, to identify crashes that occur within ten minutes, in the hopes I see a log that stands out, for the crashes.
I'm not sure which exact image the Raspberry Pi Imager utilizes, but I mostly chose Raspberry Pi OS Lite (32bit, Bookworm), so I would assume this: https://downloads.raspberrypi.com/raspi ... ite.img.xz

I've made the following configuration adjustments:
  • Set hostname
  • Set username/password
  • Configure wireless LAN (country DE)
  • Locale settings timezone EU/Berlin
  • Keyboard layout us
  • Enable SSH with password authentication
  • Disable telemetry

I'm not sure if I find enough time to follow all these approaches, but I'll report back with anything I find, in the hopes, that this will also help someone else.
