Having problems setting a Pi-0-W up headless with the current Bookworm Pi-os install via Pi-imager.

The wifi creds dont seem to stick??

Numerous attempts with different images and file edits, i even tried replacing the psk-key coded string with a literal string in firstrun.sh, and confirmed the wifi channel employed was within the GB/UK range expected by the pi (set to 11, was auto-13).

My usual fallback of a usbhub+rj45 port isnt working i suspect due to power draw? - red light on router port when connected with a verified cable.
replacement usb/network hub on order from pi hut..

So I gave the usb gadget approach a try, installed a rdnis driver when the pi initially connected as a coms port using a github driver from dukelec/mbrush. https://github.com/dukelec/mbrush/tree/ ... win_driver

Now my problems are that the pi connects as a network device ok but it appears as an 'Unidentified Network' in the Network connections legacy window (win11).

I have tried setting a fixed ip with both my lan and wifi dhcp servers when the host pc(to the pi) is connected to both/either.
(yes 2 dhcp servers/address pools.) - same result - unidentified network?

I have rebooted the PC post driver install. and rebooted routers numerous times.

Next step suggestions very welcome.. Thanks in advance..

also pings to the pi hostname fail as do pings to any assigned ip addys to the pi port as listed by ipconfig.
