Keyboard are cheap as chips (or you may already have a USB one), and a standard TV with HDMI will work as a monitor. So you may already have enough to get some diagnostics done.
Yep.

The wireless keyboard that I'm typing this on cost me less than 10€ brand new and I have a wired one that claims to be waterproof too that I paid a similar amount for.

I have two perfectly good TV's that I use with my PIs that I got for nothing...someone was throwing them away. More money than sense, if you ask me. They are commonplace on online markets for very little too.

Crazy to try to fly blind when they are so cheap and readily available, IMHO.

Do I detect a bit of a (perhaps unintentional) first world bias there?

We don't know where the OP is. The might have high import duties (happens in the first world too. Looking at you America), limited availability, and/or high shipping costs. Even if they don't, the fact they're using a B+ suggest they're on a limited budget.

Fair point...unintentional; I assure you. :D

We can sometimes all be a little bit guilty of that, I suspect. :o
