Don't tell me I have a faulty laptop charger _and_ and faulty RPi charger...? I don't try to buy cheap alternatives and I buy from big businesses and the official sites. edit: The reviews for the extension lead are 5 stars 500 reviewers. I've spoken to my repair line for the house and he is certain it's the extension lead. I'm a moody alien.I totally agree. We always specify grounded power bricks with our designs, but we know those often get replaced with ungrounded stuff.
However there is supposed to be a limit to the inrush current through a thermistor charging the main smoothing capacitor so it sounds like that is either faulty or missing from your PSU.
