If you want full control and zero spying, I'd go with a Linux distro like Ubuntu or Fedora, open source, no built-in telemetry. For browsers, Firefox with some privacy tweaks (disable telemetry, use about\:config settings) is solid. You can use extensions like Session Buddy or OneTab for session management, plus bookmark managers that let you export and move stuff around easily. Chromium-based browsers usually send data to Google, so avoid those unless you strip telemetry out, which is a hassle. Also, keep your backups local, and avoid syncing with cloud accounts if privacy’s the goal.
