When I was 8 years old, I saw my dad fix a calculator. I have been tearing things apart and fixing things ever since.
I decided to jump into KiCad to design my own PCB, and figured a calculator would be a fitting project. I also need a new calculator.
The RP2040 seemed like a great choice, I have tinkered with a Raspberry Pi on a few occasions.
This is my first attempt at creating a schematic in KiCad and using an RP2040. I have a decent amount of experience reading schematics and troubleshooting electrical issues using schematics, but I have never created one.
Project Summary:
An 8-digit calculator with a small battery charges and programs via USB-C. I will be 3d printing the outer case and buttons.
I have attached a PNG of what I have so far, hopefully it's viewable!
- Please take a look and let me know if you see any red flags.
-What additional info would be helpful to provide?
I will be working on the PCB layout next; all components are SMD.
Parts List:
- Batt: LiPo 3.7V 500mAh
- RP2040
- USB_C_Receptacle_USB2.0_16P
- 7-segment LEDs XL-SA3191SRWC
