Camera board • Re: Take a small picture by setting size but use scale not crop

This is another detail I should have mentioned but when I'm talking about scaling down here I am not placing importance on quality since it's for a live display see attachment below for context (handheld camera). In the end when I push the shutter button, I take the full res image.

I want to see the full res of the image eg. 4056 x 3040 scaled down to 320x320 (then cropped to 240x320 for display portrait rotation) understanding that it will lose a lot of data.

So far if I take a full res img then via PIL scale it down, it takes too long. Crop is fast with regard to the SPI display refresh rate.

The slowness is the process of taking the photo I believe as when I use my crop zoom feature (take a larger photo and pan the display) it is slower in display refresh rate.

Sorry if I'm saying the same thing again.

I will check out the 2x2 binned mode

Edit: yeah I realize I just repeated myself with the phot above though maybe not as clear with the context (camera display)

Good point about which camera module I use both V3 and HQ
